I AM STILL WITH YOU, Christen Holder

Meira faded with each labored breath. 90% of her body irreparably burned. Trevor was engaged to marry her. Now the explosion of her Dad’s experimental car shattered their life’s dreams into empty time. Trevor cried out from all he was, praying for some miracle. The life and rebellious craze of Meira’s tomboy passions keenly balanced her vivacious feminine guile as she whispered “Trevor, I love…I’ll always l o v e…u…” She was gone.

Now some 33 years later, a lifetime away, Trevor was in government. He had been married-divorced, lived a full life except fate had denied him children. Neither him nor his ex-wife ever got over each other’s first loves. They had settled biding their time to oblivian.

Then, there she was in that Italian Restaurant, mid 20’s but the same aura of light. But how? He must be deluding himself.

He went to her table and invited himself to eat with her and her friends. She somehow obliged introducing herself as Mira. He sent her a wave from his heart, and to his surprise her soul answered back.

10 years later, he lay dying with cancer. Medicine couldn’t save him. She walked in saying: “It took nearly a decade to find you, but I remember you like yesterday.” With a sigh of deep sadness yet eternal knowing of soul cycles, Trevor held her hand “I will always love you, I always have.” Then his eyes faded away.
